Out of Orbit is a retro side-scrolling platformer for iPhone and iPad. Play as Bambaata the astronaut across thirty worlds — ten planets, ten moons and ten shuttles — soundtracked by six original Bambaata tracks. It is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases.

Common questions

My progress disappeared.
Progress is saved on your device only. Deleting the app, or clearing its data, clears the save, your lifetime stats and any unlocked modes. There is no account to restore from.

The high-score board is empty or won't load.
The board is shared between all players and needs an internet connection. If you are offline, or the connection drops, the game keeps playing normally and shows the last board it downloaded. Your own scores are still saved on the device.

How do I play?
Landscape only. Use the on-screen thumbstick to move, JUMP to jump, and FIRE to throw a fireball once you have one. Hold JUMP for a full jump, tap it for a short hop. Turn your device sideways if you see a prompt asking you to rotate.

The music is too loud or too quiet.
Tap the ♪ button to mute or unmute. Overall volume follows your device's volume buttons.

How do I get on the leaderboard?
Finish a run with a qualifying score, enter your name on the letter grid, then choose END to save it.

My high score didn't appear.
Scores are submitted over the internet. If you were offline when the run ended, the score stays on your device but doesn't reach the galaxy-wide board.

Does it work offline?
The whole game does. Only the galaxy-wide leaderboard needs a connection.

Can I remove my leaderboard entry?
Yes — email us with the name and score and we'll delete it.

Reporting a bug

Email us with:

• Your device and iOS version (e.g. iPhone 15, iOS 18)
• What you were doing when it happened — which world, what you pressed
• A screenshot or screen recording if you have one
